Or, in this case, a mild Dominican cigar that features the most excellent rich flavors.
The Connecticut wrappers used for Diamond Crowns are double fermented, contributing bold flavor. This serves as the perfect complement to the mild blend of fillers from the Dominican Republic.
If you buy cigars online, you know how difficult it can be to find this brand. Certain sizes seem to always be out of stock, which speaks to their popularity. Never fear because there are always the Maximus and Julius Caesar lines if the regular Diamond Crowns are not available. Each features its own unique flavor and body.

The Maximus line is best identified by its very dark sungrown Ecuadorian wrapper. Like the regular line, it features rich flavor but this cigar is full-bodied to the core. Select from the Double Corona #1, Churchill #2, Pyramid #2, Toro #4, and Robusto #5, each featuring a 50 ring gauge. Your wallet better be big because it will cost $200 or more to purchase a box of 20.

Julius Caesar was the line created to honor J.C. Newman Cigar Company founder Julius Caesar Newman. Havana-seed wrappers are used for these hand-rolled beauties that contain five year-old Central American tobacco. Bold and rich, this line does its namesake proud, featuring coffee and woody flavors that are both spicy and sweet.

A single El Credito costs about $2.50 to $3.30, depending on size. The 25-cigar bundles are very popular, perhaps because they cost just $55 to $70, based on size. El Perrito, which is 5.5 inches long and features a 38 ring, comes in boxes of 50 that sell for about $80. Cigars carrying this brand name generally receive ratings in the high 70s to 80.

Ernesto Carillo left Cuba in 1959 to begin his new life in the U.S. He developed the El Credito factory in Miami, Florida, a series of small stores staffed with workers who hand wrap these smokes. The shop reminds one of Havana at the turn of the century and even caters to customers walking in off the street.

Mr. Carillo says his cigars are made as if the factory was in Cuba, with each person handling a cigar from beginning to end. These few dozen employees manage to create approximately one million cigars each year. Mr. Carillo is modest, saying that the cigar prices are nothing he will get rich from but they allow his company to do well.

Hailing from Honduras, they are medium to full-bodied and feature excellent construction, a nice level of complexity, and an excellent burn.
Two brands use the name El Rey Del Mundo, one owned by the Villazon family of Honduras and the other produced on Cuba for the Cuban state-owned tobacco company Habanos SA. Since Cuban cigars are off-limits to Americans, we are focusing on the Honduran variety. However, we can say that the original brand was once considered the most prestigious and expensive on the planet.

Honduras yields one of the best-selling and finest cigars in terms of this brand. Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers are used to contain long Havana seed filler tobacco that features a superb taste. These Havana-style cigars come in various shapes, sizes, and packages, resulting in something for everyone. Smokers are often surprised at the low price for such a great cigar.

Sizes range from the 4.5-inch, 35 ring Café Au Lait to the massive 8.5-inch, 52 ring Coronation. Elegantes must have been named after their ring size, a very delicate 29 gauge. Robustos are just that, with 54 rings and lengths ranging from the five-inch regular Robusto to the 7.25-inch Robusto Suprema. Flor Del Mundo is another impressive choice, featuring a length of 7.25 inches and a 54 ring.

You will find these top sellers in singles or a box of 20, 35, or 40 depending on size. One cigar runs about $5 to $7 and a box of 20 costs anywhere from $50 to $90 based on the size selected. Several varieties feature a choice of natural or Maduro wrapper. The price is the same so why not try both for a double treat?

This served him well throughout his industry career, which included opening and running cigar factories in the Canary Islands and Brazil. A subsequent planned retirement in Miami was interrupted by Nestor Plascencia, who was experiencing production issues at one of his facilities in Honduras.
The move proved very beneficial because it led Evelio to create the cigar that bore his name. Nestor had a desire to create a cigar that reflected Cuban workmanship and quality. A subsequent planned retirement in Miami was interrupted by Nestor Plascencia, who was experiencing production issues at one of his facilities in Honduras.

Evelio agreed to help Nestor set up the facility that would produce the cigars. The resulting full-bodied brand is creamy and smooth. Smokers notice hints of leather and oak, followed by spice that is pleasant and far from overwhelming.

Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos are used in the filler, the binder is Honduran, and a sweet Ecuadorian wrapper contains it all. Evelios have a quality and taste reminiscent of 1960s Cuban cigars, yet are available at a fraction of the price. Coronas, Double Coronas, #1s, Robustos, Robusto Largas, and Piramides each feature a natural wrapper. Smokers who buy cigars online can purchase a box of 25 of any size for about $55.

This brand proves that sometimes older is better and sticking with a good thing is wise. Being able to control every aspect of the production process to ensure duplication of the Cuban method of cigar making was something Evelio required. When Nestor granted him that authority, the journey began that resulted in this excellent cigar.

Evelio tried several times to move away from the cigar industry but we are glad he failed. Were it not for being called to Honduras, he never would have created the handmade long fillers that feature his name. For those who want the Cuban smoking experience without being thrown in jail, these are one of the best cigars to choose.

Eventually, he decided to create a regular production cigar, although limited editions carrying this brand name are still made. Whichever line you select, the experience should be pleasant because this industry veteran always has quality in mind.
The baseline E.P. Carrillo features a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers contained in an Ecuadorian wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder. An earthy core with hay and grass notes and a finish that is a bit creamy characterize these. Six sizes are offered, ranging from the 4.875-inch, 50 ring Encantos to the 7.125, 49 ring Churchill Especial.
The E.P. Carrillo Edicion Inaugural 2009 commemorated Ernesto Carrillo’s 30 years in the industry.
The Dutch Masters brand celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2011. These machine-made cigars are consistent best-sellers due to their appealing aroma and combination of smooth and mellow flavors. They feature both homogenized and naturally-grown wrappers and come many varieties, often sold in boxes of 50 or 55 for under $50.
Originally produced by G.H. Johnson Cigar Company, this brand became a flagship for the Consolidated Cigar Company that merged G.H. Johnson and six other companies in 1921. Since 1999, Altadis U.S.A., Inc. has manufactured and sold Dutch Masters. Included in the brand are full size cigars and small cigarellos affectionately called “mini-dutches.”
In the 1950s, Dutch Masters became a household name due to sponsoring television projects for comedian Ernie Kovacs. Ironically, Kovacs never smoked the brand, preferring Havana cigars. In the early 1990s, mentions in various hip-hop songs led to Dutch Masters experiencing a resurgence in popularity. Unfortunately, the mentions referred to the cigar being broken down and then re-rolled in combination with marijuana.

The 5.625-inch, 42 ring Coronas are particularly popular because they come in an assortment of flavors including strawberry, vanilla, and grape. Cigarellos are offered in chocolate, cognac, wine, and other tempting flavors. Smokers can also find vanilla, grape, and cognac Tube Cigarellos if they prefer a smaller smoke. These beloved American stogies can be found for under $1 each, making them a staple in the humidors of everyday smokers who enjoy a mild taste, excellent burn, and remarkable consistency.

A Dutch Masters cigar can be easily identified by its packaging. The image is the 1662 painting, The Syndics of the Draper’s Guild, by Rembrandt. The men in this oil painting are often thought to be Pilgrims but they are really the Drapers Guild paupers. This painting is described as the “last great collective portrait” painted by the world-renowned artist.

A Cameroon wrapper is used to make the 1066 line. Filler and binder are the same as the regular Excalibur line. This full-bodied cigar comes in seven sizes sold in stained wooden boxes of 20 online. Legend, the newest line in the brand, is a medium to full-bodied cigar featuring Dominican ligero and Nicaraguan tobacco. A Connecticut binder and wrapper are used to create an assortment of flavors ranging from wood to leather, with a peppery finish.

A box of 20 with natural wrappers costs about $135 for the Crusader and Challenger and $150 for the Conqueror. In the regular and 1066 lines, Maduro wrappers are available for some sizes.

Finnegan’s Reserves are especially popular around St. Patrick’s Day so shoppers should place their orders early because these are bound to sell out.

Holt’s is the only place we know of where you can find these cigars. If you make a purchase now but do not smoke these until later, preservation is important. Those who do not have a humidor can use a lidded wooden box with a latch. To increase humidity within the box, a damp sponge can be added.

When taking cigars on the go, a damp paper towel inside an open plastic sandwich bag does the trick. This bag should be placed within a larger bag that contains the cigar. When the large bag is sealed, internal humidity is preserved. The bag should be kept in a dark place such as a purse or briefcase.

No matter where you smoke them, Finnegan’s Reserves are sure to be lucky. Keep an eye out for leprechauns, rainbows, and four-leafed clovers. They are there to show you that luck can be found anywhere. Although, you may be too distracted by the great taste of these inexpensive Dominican long-filler stogies to notice!

If you buy cigars online, you will enjoy the convenience of shopping for Doc Hollidays on the Holt’s Web site. The company is currently running a two-box deal on each size, enabling customers to save cash by purchasing in bulk. The price is right and customers love the gun slinger theme of these cigars.

Those who smoke these regularly report a decent experience. After being aged for one to two months, many people find the taste even better. They are perfect for a golf outing, business deal celebration, or just a regular, everyday smoke. Of course, they are also enjoyable while doing some wagering, paying homage to Doc himself.

Wild West fans who enjoy a medium to full-bodied cigar should try one of these stogies. Holt’s is where you can find them and ordering online is easy. If you are a fan of this brand, take advantage of the two box deal before it ends. Exclusive brands like these are not easy to find, which makes them even better.
